In this webinar, we dove deep into the realm of Bitcoin with the help of Amiti Uttarwar from Xapo and John Newbery from Chaincode, two bitcoin core developers. It was an intimate and interactive learning experience led by two very skilled bitcoin devs, which covered scripting and adversarial thinking in the peer to peer network followed by an insightful discussion on onboarding developers to the Bitcoin ecosystem for a more diverse and inclusive community. A d.school style workshop to explore how to design a blockchain ecosystem built for everyone. Over the last couple of years, the blockchain space has seen immense and undeniable growth. Job roles and companies within this industry have skyrocketed (the role “blockchain developer” itself has grown 33x over the past year as reported by LinkedIn!), yet there is currently no systematic way of quantifying the contributions women have made to the industry. Historically, women and underrepresented minorities have been left behind in the web and mobile revolutions. Let’s shake up history and make way for a new standard. At Designing a Diverse Blockchain Ecosystem, we looked at the early results of she256’s Diversity in Blockchain Study and engaged in design thinking exercises to diagnose challenges, understand the problem at hand, and devise targeted solutions to create an inclusive blockchain ecosystem.
